Junaidi Che Halim began his career as Inspection Executive at Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd, Bintulu in 2003 upon graduating from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Mechanical Engineering.
In MLNG, he became aware of various damage mechanisms and unique material selection associated with low temperature cryogenic service. In 2009, Junaidi joined PETRONAS Chemicals Fertiliser Kedah Sdn Bhd (PCFKSB) located at Gurun, Kedah. Junaidi faced multiple challenges in managing damage mechanisms in fertilizer and ammonia processing plants such as high temperature hydrogen services and corrosive urea carbamate solution.
Junaidi holds several international certifications such as American Petroleum Institute (API) Inspector for API 510 Pressure Vessel, API 570 Process Piping and also, API 653 Aboveground Storage Tank to better understand and perform his role as Inspection and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer in PCFKSB. Junaidi is also a certified Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) leader and facilitator who has been involved in various technical and non-technical incident investigations within PCFKSB and PETRONAS groups. Currently, Junaidi is a Staff Engineer for Inspection. His major role focuses on developing and optimizing inspection strategies to improve the integrity of new and in-service fired and unfired static equipment such as heat exchangers, columns, vessels, furnaces and reformers.
