Rafeah Wahi is an Associate
Professor in the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, and a Knowledge
for Change (K4C) Coordinator and mentor for Qadim Hub, Universiti Malaysia
Sarawak (UNIMAS).
She is a Certified Mentor for Community Based
Participatory Research (CBPR) by UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and
Social Responsibility in Higher Education, and Certified Trainer by Malaysian
Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp). She has 20 years of
experience in teaching and research.
Her area of specialization is environmental
engineering, waste utilization technology and waste management education. She
is passionate about transformative community transformation, specialising in
service learning and community-based participatory research (CBPR).
Her current H-index is 15, with more than 1200
citations. She also co-authored 6 books and published over 55 scientific
publications including indexed journals, proceedings and other articles. She
was the shortlisted candidate for Anugerah Akademik Negara ke-14 (Kategori
Pengajaran), recipient for Anugerah Pengajaran UNIMAS (2021), UNIMAS Teaching
Excellence Award for Immersive (Blended) Learning (2021), UNIMAS Teaching
Excellence Award for Transformative Teaching-Learning (2021), Anugerah Akademik
Harapan UNIMAS (2017) and Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing by Elsevier
(2016).
She is also involved in the Malaysia Ministry of
Higher Education (MOHE) level in Service Learning Malaysia-University for
Society (SULAM) Strategic Committee and Experiential Learning and
Competency-based Education (EXCEL) Initiative Strategic Committee.
